I’m sure you’ve seen the stories on the news about vendors who don’t hold up their end of the bargain.

It can be discouraging to a bride who really doesn’t know who to trust. So how do you protect yourself against this kind of thing?

  1. CONTRACTS, CONTRACTS, CONTRACTS – We’ve beat this dead horse before (Click Here for the full article) but seriously this is so incredibly important. Don’t sign a contract without some kind of clause that you will receive your money back should services not be provided.

  2. Make sure they have insurance – Reputable companies will have insurance (and they should be able to show you proof) to protect against liability.

  3. Utilize review sites like The Knot, Wedding Wire, Yelp, and Google and find RECENT reviews from brides. If you sense something is a little fishy, don’t wait for the salmon to stand up your cocktail hour, find a different vendor.

  4. Get Wedding Insurance – I know, this seems like a waste of money to some but it is truly SO important. Check in next week for more information about wedding insurance and the Top 20 Wedding Mishaps list! What do you think will be the worst?
