Major “No-No’s” When Planning a Wedding – Not Reading the Contract
February 26, 2015
We’ve all done it at least once in our life. You go to buy something and you’re tired, distracted by kids or work, or just ready to get out of there! So instead of reading line by line over the contract, you just initial here and sign there without giving it a second thought.
Ladies. LADIES. Listen up- it’s about to get real in here.
Do NOT skim or skip over anything in the contracts you are signing with your wedding vendors or venue. Read over everything. Have questions? Ask the person giving you the contract. Clarify things. Put any additional clarifications or promises in writing. Don’t walk away from the table not knowing exactly what you are paying for.
So what if you’re not good at reading 8 pages of print or contracts are just plain confusing? Bring along someone “on your side” to help and request that the person or company you are signing with provide an individual to go line by line over the contract with you. You are not putting anyone out and it’s not an inconvenience to the company. Believe us when we say that we would much rather you walk away completely clear on the contract than walk away without a clue as to what you just signed. It’s a win-win for both of us.
